Lucid Dreaming in 2 Weeks: a MILD Technique Experiment
January 13, 2007 on 6:56 pm | In Lucid Techniques |
For the next 14 nights, I’m going to diligently practice the MILD technique to induce lucid dreaming.
If you’re not familiar with this technique, check out this link for an excellent concise explanation.
I did this last night and while I didn’t become lucid, I did succeed in taking one dream and making it (seemingly) last all night. Not exactly great since it wasn’t a particularly pleasant dream, but it shows the fact that intent has great effect.
I am endlessly awed by the study of dreams and the mind, the philosophical implications, etc. and have spent most of my time in pursuit of the intellectual knowledge behind this. This is a fancy way of saying I’ve done little to truly pursue lucid dreaming in any practical sense!
This is all going to change.
I’ll be reporting my experiences in their totality in 2 weeks, with an update midway through next weekend.

...are you dreaming now?

Ben,
Excited to hear you’re embarking on lucid induction experiments. Honored that you provided a link to my blog! Seems like we have a lot of the same interests. I’ve started up an ‘official’ lucid dreaming blog at http://.oneiroverse.blogspot.com. Hope to hear from you and good luck.
P.S. Also check out one of my last Myspace blog entries entitled “Beginners Guide (Postscript)” - It contains important advice about the MILD method.

I can’t wait to see what you do with your new blog! You have so much awesome material already on your myspace page; glad to see you’re giving it (and what’s to come) a proper home on blogspot.
