Interesting. Like I said in that last comment, I've yet to find any substance that is 100% for producing lucid dreams. People like to talk up their favorite substances, but when it comes down to it, they rarely as amazing as they are talked up to be.

If you're on the substance train though, there's one substance which I've heard very interesting things about. Salvia Divinorum is said to produce full blown OBE's and similar effects at high doses. You may want to look into that as well, if you haven't heard of it already.

Good luck with these experiments, I think I'm going to write up a short little thing about them on my blog because this sort of thing is just cool, not to mention informative.

Good luck!

I too have experimented with various drugs to induce lucidity and agree with mad hatter that I have yet to find any 100% substance. If someone were to discover such a 100% drug it would be a boon to all humankind.

I am on several medications for psychiatric disorders and fortunately none of them have interfered with my natural dreaming processes. One has had a positive effect on my lucid occurences - it is a mild psychotropic medication called 'Seroquel'. I don't know if I'd go so far as to advocate it as a lucidity pill, but the increase in lucid dream activity and the general vividness of dreams seems too significant to be dismissed as mere coincidence. I think it would be safe to say that any member of the psychotropic-pharmaceutical family would be a help in lucid induction.

I think Ska on DreamViews said something about African Dream Herb and how its effects culminated over a series of days. Perhaps Calea is the same way? I know that ingesting drugs usually has longer but less pronounced effects, so I'm not sure if eating it is effective at all. Maybe you have to absorb it quickly. I'd check out erowid if you haven't already.

I admire your effort and enjoyed reading your account. Personally, I would be a little concerned about the potential health effects, but that's just me.

I'm sure your efforts will pay off in the end.

Mad Hatter,,
I'm an Erowid junkie. :) If I could I would print the entire website into a series of encyclopedia's and proudly display them on my shelf.

Zataod,
I understand where you're coming from. I guess I'm not worried though because I've never heard of anything bad ever related to Calea Z. consumption - nothing whatsoever. If I thought there was a potential to overdose I would be very very cautious but as far as I can see, this herb is nontoxic and no one has ever overdosed or even thrown up or gotten sick from using it (unless you include people gagging from the horrible taste of the tea :)

Thanks for ya'lls input.

I'm soon to be getting the 10x pills in the mail...yay!

i expermented with this herb about 5 and 10 years ago.

there is something you are missing

-just like Cannibis Sativa- Calea Z. Has a potent DARK green FEMALE
AND A NON-POTENT light green MALE.

I HAVE HAD BOTH-AND SOME HEAD SHOPS SELL POUCHES OF THE LIGHT GREEN BUNK KIND.

LIGHT GREEN-TASTED LIKE ROTTING VOMIT, NO REAL EFFECT.

DARK GREEN-TASTED LIKE ROTTING PUTRID VOMIT-SLAMMED IT ALL IN ONE SHOT, TRIED HARD NOT TO VOMIT. THE MOST INTENSE,LUCID,LONGEST DREAMS I EVER HAD!!!!!

Matt,
I am working on a new website on Calea Z that I hope will provide you with the advice you are looking for on getting the best experience with this dream induction herb. Be on the lookout for an annoucement soon. I would also like to document your experience for the site, be on the lookout for an email from me!

The problem is, that if you have taken Calea one time, your body has built up a certain tolerance level quickly. You have to wait more than two weeks before taking Calea again for an effect. This is my experience. Greetz, Jonathan

Jonathan - Funny, I had theorized the exact opposite - that it took a cumulative effect on the body.

Have you had your experience confirmed many times?

This is really funny. :-) I just could get effects when waiting some weeks. And if I took Calea in series, already at the second time it doesn't work anymore. I could observe it often by using such herbals. Maybe - as anything - it's just a matter of beliefs. :-)
