Bi-Weekly Dream Report - Lucidity, Hypnopompic Dreaming, and Slacking Off
I spontaneously knew I was dreaming as I walked through my grandparents house. My father was in the kitchen and I look at him and ask him if he knows this is a dream. He’s nothing but smiles as he looks at me as if to say “Oh, I know!” I walk past him and into the living room.
In real life, my grandfather had passed away about a week before I had this dream. I know this in the dream and it makes me think of how often I hear about people using lucid dreams to conjure up the memory of someone who had passed on so they could see them once again.
I held this thought in my head but was hesitant to make it happen. I walk into the room where he always sat – almost all my memories of him start with him sitting in this room, in the same chair reading the paper or watching TV – but he did not appear.
I was relieved. I didn’t really have anything to say to him anyway. The whole idea is kind of creepy too.
….
I had a strange occurrence where I woke up from a horribly intense dream and for a brief second I could see part of the dream in my bedroom. Obviously this was a hallucination but I have never had this happen before.
…
I’ve experienced another point where I’m lying there with my eyes closed, asleep but awake to some extent, watching hypnogogic imagery on my eyelids.
….
Confession time:
I’ve hardly been writing my dreams down at all for the last 6 weeks.
I’m also terrible at doing reality checks with any consistently whatsoever!
Why oh why do I (not) do this?!

Awesome example of what dreams can do for us and to us. I’ve been playing with trying to step up my Lucidity skills to the point where I can interact with real life people in the dream state, to get a better understanding of the person.

I perfectly know what it feels like to start thinking about ghosts when dreaming consciously. One can get a really creepy sensation. I remember having a lucid dream about me being in some strange house in the kitchen. I eat some random foot I find scattered everywhere to see how it tastes and suddenly I see a large group of people standing behind my back and looking at me as if hypnotized. I carelessly ask them: what are you ghosts or something? They say “yes” in unison. I get so scared that I instantly wake up.
