Mind Machine + Marijuana = Marvelous

eye I am in the mind machineGetting high and taking in a session with my sound and light machine – also somewhat dramatically called a mind machine – is something I’ve been meaning to do for months.

I finally got around to doing it a few nights ago. I took 3 or 4 bong hits, one after another, and then went into my bedroom and put on my Sirius Sound and Light Machine. I selected a 20 minute session called “Visualization”, whose description promises to go through a sweeping series of light and frequencies designed to induce a visually-oriented experience.

The result was a very intense, almost overwhelming, 20 minutes of crazy visuals and sensations.

To give you a little background on my experience with my Sirius Mind Machine:

Every time I use this mind machine I see interesting patterns of flickering lights that dance and move, creating the image of constantly morphing shapes and patterns atop my eyelids. Occasionally I’ll feel the sensation of moving through a tunnel, as much of the imagery will center around a single point in your vision that appears to be coming at you.

Sometimes I even see whisps of imagery – not actually images but impressions of images, such as a blue sky with a dark treeline, or a shadow of the human figure out of the corner of my eyes, constantly coming in and out of my vision with the pulsating rhythm of a binaural beat.

All of this was greatly enhanced under the influence of marijuana.

The visuals were fantastically psychedelic.

The colors and patterns were everything they normally were but much more intense, fluid, and “real.” There was more of a feeling of depth associated with the visuals, too.

The “tunnel sensation” was more pronounced than ever.

I experienced consistent auditory hallucinations throughout the session, too. The sound can best be described as small little bells ringing and shaking quickly and then stopping. This is something I’ve never had happen before.

There were a few points in the session where the lights and the binaural beats suddenly turned around and changed completely. This dramatic change in both sound and light was a shock to my system. It was as if I had been catapulted into the session and it is these moments that I refer to as overwhelming.

All in all this was a fantastic experience and I plan on doing more experimentation along these lines when I get the chance to do. Of course I will keep you posted on my adventures. :)

  1. Enjoy the experience!

I’ve been thinking about buying a mind machine. I’ll look into the Sirius. I wonder if it’s worth every penny.

  2. FYI mine ran about $100. Beyond the neat visuals and relaxed (or focused, etc) state it can bring you to, my sound and light machine has also helped me with some sleeping problems, making that $100 well worth it.

  3. The reason it’s 100 is because the place that makes them requires that price or more. I’m becoming on of their vendors, and that price is limiting.

I can’t wait to get one for myself though!
