i think a lucid dreaming pill is inherently flawed idea. not that there aren't plant teachers, DMT or other oids (take yer pick) out there that can provide opportunities for lucidity. i'd say galantamine is pretty reliable for providing opportunities.

but here's the catch. teachers can motivate, elevate and open doors. humans have been on that trip for millenia. but those elevated states have to be integrated into normative consciousness. if someone blast off, again and again, what's the use if they can't even remember what was experienced? that's the main issue with DMT. integration takes time, it takes patience, and it take work (and maybe smaller doses).

a pill can provide opportunities for lucidity in a dream but how well can the ego handle the opportunity? that's the crux for me. is there still learning going on, or are the dreams becoming repetitive? is the integrative work able to go on? as long as the pills are part of a larger praxis - meditation/exploration/soulwork - then i say yes, a better lucid dreaming could become available.

a pill can get someone up to the doorway, but it's up to that individual to walk thru the threshold.

Hello,
Mad Hatter convinces me. I don't believe lucid dreams are a byproduct of the brain. The quest for the pill inducing lucid dreams is an expression of the reason who wants to control another realm of human awreness. Now that lucid dreams become e respectable object it has to be put under control.

Well you can learn to dream lucid dreams. Everyone can do it, as long as he believes that there are no obstacles in his or her way. Start today and while you are awake imagine, now I am dreaming. Do this from time to time and your spirit will remember this while you are dreaming and then the lucid dreams begins.

Don't wait for the pill, you are all the pill you ever will need.

Certain pills and meditations that can help you relax also help substantially with lucid dreaming success. But I think this has more to do with relaxing your body and mind than anything else.
