I’ve finally launched CaleaZdreams.com!
This website is exclusively devoted to using Calea Zacatechichi in relation to working with your dreams.
Calea Z, also called dream herb, comes up constantly on lucid dreaming forums and dream discussion groups. People always have questions on it! And there’s not one site people always get referred to – there’s actually NO websites just on Calea Z, until now! So I’m hoping this site will help fill the void.
CaleaZdreams.com isn’t a “blog” but rather a resource site or a guide on Calea Z.
If you have experience with Calea Zacatechichi, consider writing it up and posting an experience . . . → Read More: CaleaZDreams.com launched – New website on Dream Herb!

It’s been a long time since Dreaming Life had an update & I’m currently assessing what I want to do with this blog.
I’m absolutely thrilled to see some of the more popular posts here receive a steady stream of visitors, no matter what. Because of this, I’m considering changing this site into more of a “resource” site with the more popular posts / articles put out front for all to see, with maybe the blog being just another section of the site? We’ll see.
Even though Dreaming Life hasn’t been getting any action, I’ve been working on a bunch of related stuff . . . → Read More: Waking back up from a blog break…

Yesterday I received a treat in the mail – my copy of Erowid’s members only newsletter, Erowid Extracts. This issue discusses tobacco in a sacred context, has articles on absinthe and ayahausca, book reviews, and some other tidbits. It also came with a small comic-book!
One of my favorite parts of the newsletter is the website statistics, showing how many visitors the site gets, what’s most popular, and so on.
Erowid is getting an amazing 50,000+ visitors each day. These statistics are coupled with member stats, showing how many members they have, country by country.
There’s about 1300 members currently.

Today I’ve been experimenting with a few different layouts. As much I liked the old design, it was started to look stagnant and I found it’s inherent design limiting for presenting information in two columns.
It’s been a long search trying to find a good 3 column WordPress theme with all the geeky details I want for the blog, both back-end and front-end! But I think I found it with this one…
I hope it provides for a more user friendly visit to the site and all the different pages here. I’m still working on tweaking the settings, so things might look a . . . → Read More: Website Redesign

There’s some really neat blogs and websites I’ve discovered recently that I want to share:
The Dream Studies Portal: mumblings in the realm of dreaming, culture, and consciousness
The author behind Dream Studies has credentials that include an MA in Consciousness Studies and a Certificate in Dream Studies from John F. Kennedy University. How cool is that? It’s awesome to see this intersection between academia and dreams getting more attention.
Dream Flesh
I get this sense of excitement reading Dream Flesh. This guy has big plans and most importantly, acts upon them. Looks like he just published a book and redesigned the site entirely.

My dreams have been choppy lately, and my dream journal is in desperate need of attention. The two are probably related.
I had a really weird nightmarish dream the other night – demon children chasing me, weird symbolism and whatnot. I am sure this is related to some real life struggles.
I see my work creeping into my dreams more and more lately. I don’t like it.
And deep discussions my wife and I have in waking life slip into my dreams, too, like the conversations are just carrying on with or without my intention. It’s slightly amusing to have these issues we’re working . . . → Read More: Dream Report : bad dreams, choppy dreams…

Official ALTERED STATES movie trailer:
Plot Summary: A scientist takes drugs inside a sensory deprivation chamber, has crazy intense psychedelic trips, then genetically regresses into a primordial pre-human, ultimately regressing into the void of existence itself.
The story revolves around a young scientist named Eddie Jessup, whose interest in his work overshadows everything else, including not only his marriage to but even his own well-being.
I read that the actors experimented with ketamine while making this film. I thought this was strange but awesome of them. Later on I discovered why they did it; ALTERED STATES is based on the life and . . . → Read More: What happens when you combine mindblowing psychedelics with a sensory deprivation tank? My thoughts after seeing Waking Life:
“Holy shit – this movie really is all about lucid dreaming!”
“What the fuck was that guy talking about?”
“This is really awesome and yet sometimes really boring.”
“This guy talking about how turning on or off a light in a dream and how it won’t work – I love this scene. And 360 vision – hell yea!”
“This crazy animation style is going to give me a headache!”
“I need to watch this movie again and take notes.”
This isn’t a normal movie with character development, a climax, and so on – it’s more like a philosophical look at dreams, . . . → Read More: Dreaming While Awake: Thoughts on the film Waking Life

Life has been rough lately.
Making that time for Dreaming Life between an increasingly demanding job, my role as a husband, and just dealing with my life is partly to blame, but it goes deeper than this.
To be honest, I’ve been struggling with personal issues that have taken up much of my time and emotional energy.
I think I’m experiencing some growing pains of adulthood. This is a rough transition, ya know? In the last few years I’ve gone to school, gotten married, bought a place, and started a real career. It’s a lot to take in, and somewhere in between . . . → Read More: Why I Haven’t Posted In The Last 2 Week: Confession Time…

I’m in bed, lying on my side. I can see myself in the mirror, but I cannot move.
My body feels like absolute dead weight. I struggle to move at all.
I move my hands and arms around; I can feel it happening, but am puzzled because they are completely invisible, 100%. I don’t see them at all!
I hit my hand against the bed. Nothing.
I throw myself to the floor, and struggle to move bit by bit. Only I’ve not moved at all, now I’m again on the bed, lying on my side.
There are others in the room. I can’t see them, but . . . → Read More: Aliens, Demons, and Sleep Paralysis : What a Way to Wake Up!
