Hello… I know this feeling pretty well… and it is really hard to explain… I once had a dream where I had the feeling of being a girl, her boyfrien and at the same time the observer of the scene.

Looking at my dream journal, about 5% of my dreams involving me becoming someone else. Some of the situations have been quite strange. Once I was a black man being chased by white supremacists. I find this odd, because people sometimes tell me that I look like a white supremacist (very fair skin, shaved head).

I was also once a small boy and his grandfather simultaneously. Hard to explain.

I have these dreams a lot ,but not with cartoon characters. Like last night I had a dream That I was a Punker Guy running through a store with another guy chasing me. I don’t watch Punk movies or listen to punk music. I don’t know how to explain these dreams. D:

I’ve had some of these experiences of being someone else in my dream. Perhaps our consciousness can tap into other peoples’ dreams. One of the things I do somewhat frequently when I become lucid is look for a mirror. Often I recognize the image of my waking self when I look in the reflective surface, but every now and then I’m someone completely different. An overweight asian boy, a tall african man, a woman, a cheetah. Pretty crazy stuff.

The next thing i like to do after looking in the mirror, is swirl my hands in it and make a wormhole… then jump in. Give it a try… its rediculous fun!

That’s hilarious! I have never dreamed about being a cartoon figure, though I think Lisa Simpson showed up in my dream once. For me, dreaming about being someone else means that I am really dreaming about myself, but that for whatever reason my brain doesn’t want to think about myself in that situation, so it uses a stand-in.
