Hey Ben,

I'm as mystified as you are by the selection of some of the proposed ingredients for the lucid dreaming supplement. I can understand the inclusion of Calea Z, as well as B vitamins. Magnesium can help with sleep but I've never known it to have dream-enhancing properties.

I'm surprised at the mention of Green Tea Extract. It usually acts as a stimulant that would keep people awake, not help them fall asleep. Maybe their goal is to include a mix of drugs for sleep and for alertness in the hopes of getting people into the half-awake/half-asleep state that can sometimes lead to a lucid dream.

I took vinpocetine for several months and never noticed any positive effect on my dreams. If anything, the effect was negative, but I can't blame the negative results solely on the vinpocetine because that was only one of many ingredients in the supplement I was taking at the time. The supplement was called Ortho Mind, and it contained a variety of ingredients meant for improving cognitive performance. I stopped taking it because it dulled my creativity and interfered with my lucid dreaming practice.

At this point, I take a B vitamin complex and a fish oil pill every day, and fortunately that seems to be enough for me. :-)
