Hapexamendios,
When (or if) you combine a Salvia trip with your Proteus Mind Machine, I'd love to hear about it. Maybe you could write something up and I can post it as a blog entry? :)
BTW I love the preset on my sirius for "visualization." It's certainly different than all the others - quite flashy beyond the normal standards, with lots of sporadic changes.
Gosh, writing this makes me miss my mind machine; feels like too much time has passed without using it.

Ben ~

I usually use the glasses. When I tried the Visualization preset, no matter how low I would set the lights, they were just too flashy to me. I was probably expecting something more subtle than that, I suppose.

I am somewhat familiar with salvia: I don't use it often and I have yet to have THE breakthough experience. I experienced a few time with homemade X5 extract and straight leaf. What I have experienced was the feeling of being rocked by a nurturing and sensual presence, the impression of my house being full with (non threatening) beings and the feeling of being in a past I haven't experienced in everyday consciousness (curiously, it always has something to do with being in wood cabin in a forest or images stretching themselves to infinity, like when you take a peek at yourself between two mirrors). There was also that time where I felt the top of my skull was cracked open and wind would blow out of it... That was wild!

I have tried smoking, quidding and even a tea method I had found online. I'm interested in getting results with straight leaf, though. Growing it has been fun so far.

But yeah. I have read here and there that it is better enjoyed without too many visual distractions, preferably in the dark. That's why I was wondering if you had already combined it with your Sirius. My plant is at home, and I won't be able to plan new experiments until mid August. I am sure that with a little patience, I'll get though the threshold. :D

Hapexamendios,
The visuals were distracting eh? Now that's funny! Do you normally not use the LED Glasses at all with your Proteus Mind Machine?
If you add Salvia to the mix, I hope you're prepared for what could come and have experience with using Salvia otherwise.
PS. I'd feel cheated if I took Salvia and put on my Sirius but didn't use the LED goggles. :) I imagine the visuals would be...insane.

I own a Proteus myself. I'm not too familiar with audiostrobe technologies although I tried the demo cd that came with my device. The visuals were a little too distracting for me - which is probably the point! lol. I'll try again next time I'm on holidays.

I have used it before bed before with the 'goodnight' and 'end of the day' presets as well as the visualization and white noise ones. I wonder how salvia would affect the experience... I'd have to try without the goggles, right?

No, I'm sorry. I already have sold the nova dreamer again years ago. As I said before, it didn't really work for me. My sleep is too deep. ;-) The nova dreamer costs 125 bucks I think. Years ago I paid more than the double price of it. I think, soft drugs, deep meditation and suggestions deliver more effects. :-)

Wow - lucky you, to have tried the Nova Dreamer! Everyone talks aobut it, but so few have had the chance to use one. And it worked for you, too... :)

Yea, I agree, Audiostrobe isn't about lucid dreaming so much as relaxation and a pretty light show. But I do think it can be helpful in a roundabout way; audiostrobe can help you meditate, and meditation can help you lucid dream.

Do you actually own the Nova Dreamer?
Can I borrow it? ;)

I didn't try it yet, but I tried the nova dreamer. This are a kind of sleep-glasses that sense when you entering the REM state and send a red light signal to your eyes. You must have been conditioned to this red light and then you are able to associate the red light with the fact that you're dreaming right now. It worked sometimes in my case. It didn't has been the best helping device for me, but for people with a lighter sleep than mine may be astonished. :-)

It seems that AS isn't really usable for dreaming, but great for interesting light effects.
